When I last did this message, I was under a lot of doctrinal beliefs. This happens because far too often, we take what we are taught as gospel and never question it. This is the same with this message. Over the next few months or so, you will see new uploads to our website and other outlets of all our previous messages, revamped and renewed to match our current state of beliefs.
Not much has changed with our ministry, however, the biggest change is that we put more emphasis on the EL of Abraham, Isaac and Jacob. We learned not to only focus on Yeshua but to also put our focus on our Father more so than that of Yeshua because we must remember that Yeshua always taught us to go back to the Father.
Matthew 6:1-4
“Beware of practicing your righteousness before other people in order to be seen by them, for then you will have no reward from your Father who is in heaven. “Thus, when you give to the needy, sound no trumpet before you, as the hypocrites do in the synagogues and in the streets, that they may be praised by others. Truly, I say to you, they have received their reward. But when you give to the needy, do not let your left hand know what your right hand is doing, so that your giving may be in secret. And your Father who sees in secret will reward you.
Today we discuss forgiveness and salvation, something we need to understand before we can enter into a biblical fellowship with other like-minded believing individuals. Last thing we want to do, is corrupt the good habits of a good and faithful servant with our sinful acts. Let’s get it started, right now.
Everything begins and ends with the acknowledgement and belief in Messiah. This starts the process of reparation in our hearts and minds because we allow the Elohim to send His spirit to us with all power and glory so to move mountains in our lives. It’s not the easiest thing to do. As a child, I thought I did this many times but it came to pass that it did not happen until I was 32 years of age. Why is that, you ask? You can ask Him into your heart but if you are not ready to let go of this world, you will only be fooling yourselves. I will show this point later on.
Now we are going to go a little out of order and start with forgiveness rather than acceptance because I want to pave the path you will have to walk before you accept the walk. So, to begin, we will need to see what asking for forgiveness is, means and what it means in relation to Yeshua and Elohim.
After we learn how to accept the Messiah and turn back to Elohim, we will, at this point, have the spirit poured on to us. Then, we will have to be willing to ask for forgiveness and seek repentance for the sins of our lives. Finally, we will have to learn to build a relationship with Elohim, Yeshua and the Holy Spirit, the Ruach HaKodesh. Think of the Holy Spirit as a guide to make you feel guilty or to make you feel accomplished or loved. The Ruach is a special presence that we get blessed with to help us determine what is of El and what isn’t.
John 3:16
16 “For Elohim so loved the world that He gave His only brought-forth Son, so that everyone who believes in Him should not perish but possess everlasting life. 17 “For Elohim did not send His Son into the world to judge the world, but that the world through Him might be saved.
Acts 2:22-36
22 “Men of Yisra’ĕl, hear these words: יהושע of Natsareth, a Man from Elohim, having been pointed out to you by mighty works, and wonders, and signs which Elohim did through Him in your midst, as you yourselves also know,
23 this One, given up by the set purpose and foreknowledge of Elohim, you have impaled and put to death through the hands of lawless men –
24 “Him Elohim raised up, having loosed the pangs of death, because it was impossible that He could be held in its grip.
25 “For Dawiḏ says concerning Him, ‘I saw יהוה before me continually, because He is at my right hand, in order that I should not be shaken.
26 ‘For this reason my heart rejoiced, and my tongue was glad, and now my flesh shall also rest in expectation,
27 because You shall not leave my being in She’ol, nor shall You give Your Lovingly-committed One to see corruption.
28 ‘You have made known to me the ways of life, You shall fill me with joy in Your presence.’
29 “Men and brothers, let me speak boldly to you of the ancestor Dawiḏ, that he died and was buried, and his tomb is with us to this day.
30 “Being a prophet, then, and knowing that Elohim had sworn with an oath to him: of the fruit of his loins, according to the flesh, to raise up the Messiah to sit on his throne,
31 foreseeing this he spoke concerning the resurrection of the Messiah, that His being was neither left in She’ol, nor did His flesh see corruption.
32 “Elohim has raised up this יהושע, of which we are all witnesses.
33 “Therefore, having been exalted to the right hand of Elohim, and having received from the Father the promise of the Set-apart Spirit, He poured out this which you now see and hear.
34 “For Dawiḏ did not ascend into the heavens, but he himself said, ‘יהוה said to my Master, “Sit at My right hand,
35 until I make Your enemies a footstool for Your feet.”’
36 “Therefore let all the house of Yisra’ĕl know for certain that Elohim has made this יהושע, whom you impaled, both Master and Messiah.”
Psalms 16:8-11
8 I have set יהוה always before me; Because He is at my right hand I am not shaken.
9 Therefore my heart was glad, and my esteem rejoices; My flesh also dwells in safety.
10 For You do not leave my being in She’ol, Neither let Your Lovingly-committed One see corruption.
11 You show me the path of life; In Your presence is joy to satisfaction; At Your right hand are pleasures forever.
If we are converted from sinner to saint, we must be at a place that puts to death the old ways of a man and sin and allows a scripture led life, to serve and the Father knowing that we have Yeshua as our example and guide on how to do it. If we are unable to live a life dedicated to our Master, how can we have a relationship and grow in Him? How can we know the Father if we do not know the Son? Many of us question what Yeshua is and what His role is due to the fact that there are many scriptures that point us to worshipping the Father alone whereas in Matthew through Jude, we see many people worshipping Yeshua, however, what we see in the Life of Yeshua is that He taught from the Old Covenant and not from the Renewed Covenant. He prayed and worshipped the Father and not to Himself. This is a clear indication as to what in our bibles are the most important books to us. I would say by the example given to us by our very own Messiah, that the books of Genesis through to Malachi or 2 Chronicles. (depending on your version.) The Old Covenant is the key to walking with EL. The Renewed Covenant is the key to start the walk. You can prove the past by the future. You will see. First, we need to start by getting clean.
Confessional Forgiveness
Proverbs 28:13
Whoever conceals their sins does not prosper,
but the one who confesses and renounces them finds mercy.
Psalm 32:5
Then I acknowledged my sin to you
and did not cover up my iniquity.
I said, “I will confess my transgressions to the Lord.”
And you forgave the guilt of my sin.
Leviticus 5:5
When anyone becomes aware that they are guilty in any of these matters, they must confess in what way they have sinned.
Daniel 9:5
We have sinned and done wrong. We have been wicked and have rebelled; we have turned away from your commands and laws.
Doesn’t this tell us something very similar that comes later in the biblical timeline? Does this verse remind you of anything? What we are reading is exactly what we see later on and its amazing. Yeshua always points back to the Father.
1 John 1:9
9 – If we confess our sins, He is faithful and just to forgive us our sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness.
James 4:8
Come near to God and he will come near to you. Wash your hands, you sinners, and purify your hearts, you double-minded.
If you leave the confines of the world and its comfort and find salvation through the confession of your iniquities, you will find no condemnation. When we look at all these verses, there is plenty of evidence that we are to confess, we are given mercy and are forgiven of wickedness and need to cherish these blessings from Elohim.
Psalm 32:1
Blessed is he whose transgression is forgiven, Whose sin is covered.
If we sin after this point, we must ask for forgiveness and repent of our sin. We will go into that later. Let us take a look at the next piece of evidence.
Luke 18:21-22
21“But the wrong, if he turns from all his sins which he has done, and he shall guard all My laws, and shall do right-ruling and righteousness, he shall certainly live, he shall not die.
22“All the transgressions which he has done shall not be remembered against him – in his righteousness that he has done, he shall live.
Luke 5:32
32 I came not to call the righteous, but sinners to repentance.
So we are being told here Elohim wants us to live by confession, He wants us to turn away from those things that make us be considered wicked. Yeshua points us back to this when we read Luke. Another reason how we know that Yeshua came not to have us worship Him but to point us to the Father and show us how to do it. That is His desire for us to do. Ezekiel 18:32 “For I have no pleasure in the death of one who dies,” declares the Master יהוה. “So turn back and live!” Keep that in mind as we move forward.
Repentance
3341 metanoia
(met-an’-oy-ah)
repentance, a change of mind, change in the inner man.
When we repent of our sins and do it whole-heartedly, we, according to definition, have a change in our inner selves. Like the message last week, we have to be open to change and if we want to live in a scripture-led way, we have to have a will and desire to change in the manner that He wants us to change.
Acts 3:19
19 – Repent ye therefore, and be converted, that your sins may be blotted out, when the times of refreshing shall come from the presence of YeHoVaH.
Before we define some words here, can you see where this weeks’ message is going? We are learning how to ask for forgiveness and repent.
Converted
4762 stréphō
(stref’-o)
properly, to turn (transition); (figuratively) to convert by changing (switching) direction, i.e. go the other way (an “about-face”); taking an opposite or divergent course.
Brothers and sisters, this message today is a message that is going to take a couple of weeks. Today, we are covering forgiveness and repentance. How many of you know how hard it is to ask for forgiveness and then take it a step farther and ask for repentance? I’ll let you brew on that question as we move forward.
As we go into the book of Luke again, we will discover the price of the absence of repentance. Some will say, “I’m saved, I’m covered by the blood, I’m good, I can do whatever I want and ask for forgiveness and I will still be ok.” Well brothers and sisters, I tell you that people like this have a very rude awakening coming when they are faced with the decision of life or death.
Luke 13:3
3 – No, I tell you; but unless you repent, you will all perish as well!
Like I said before, those who think the blood will blot out all sin after salvation has been given, sadly are totally wrong. We have to repent and try our hardest not to commit those sins again. It is imperative that we make an intent action to stop the sins that we repent of.
Perish
4881 sunapollumi
(soon-ap-ol’-loo-mee)
to destroy with, mid. to perish together
Think about that word perish for a moment. Perish, how do we use it? Well, for starters, we use it to describe two separate kinds of foods, non-perishables and perishables. To put into context what Yeshua is telling us in Luke 13:3, we would be considered perishable food. Open your minds with me for a second, if perishable food has to be taken care of in a certain way to stay good then what could be said about our souls?
With that said, believe it or not ladies and gentlemen, we are perishable. Pride makes us think that we are untouchable but that is why it is consider a deadly sin. Let us continue into our study of forgiveness and repentance.
2 Peter 3:9
9 – YeHoVaH is not slow concerning His promise, as some regard slowness, but is being patient toward you, because He does not wish for any to perish but for all to come to repentance.
Ezekiel 18:32
“For I have no pleasure in the death of one who dies,” declares the Master יהוה. “So turn back and live!”
YeHoVaH does not want us to perish but like all good parents, we are given free will and a choice that we have to make and must decide is what side of the fence we are going to stand on, the side of YeHoVaH or the side of the flesh. It’s up to you.
Acts 17:30
30 – Elohim overlooked people’s ignorance about these things in earlier times, but now He commands everyone everywhere to repent of their sins and turn to Him.
What we are seeing in Acts is that YeHoVaH is not asking, requesting or suggesting that we repent. On the contrary, He is demanding, commanding and ordering us to repent. Why does He take such action? Well, it is simple but it is not easy. YeHoVaH sent Yeshua to be the lamb, He allowed the lamb to be slaughtered for a ransom as a wage. I think that action alone gives Him the right to demand repentance.
Truth be told, we are demanded to repent because it is the only way to finally have sin removed and to help us make a true stand against the sin we committed before we knew The Way. It is a choice and free will is ours to use but to escape perishing in death and receive eternal life, we must ask forgiveness and repent of our sins. It is the only way.
Recap:
Let us go over what we learned and summarize our venture thus far. Before we do that, let’s be clear about something, everything that we learned today has nothing to do with me or with my knowledge for I know nothing. This is a collaboration of Father’s work in me through the years and over the next few months, you will start to see how the scriptures come to life and you experience a transformation right before your eyes. Let’s recap:
Point number 1: When we come into a relationship with the Father and His Son, we have to learn to ask for forgiveness and repent of our sins.
Point number 2: We are given a free will to make a choice what to do but with all actions comes an equal reaction. Therefore, we must put to death the sins and iniquity of the old self and allow a new rebirth of your ways to be crafted through forgiveness and repentance of our sins.
Point number 3: There is consequences for our actions and our inability to repent. We will perish, that is not a suggestion, that is a reality. If we do not repent of our sins and make an effort not to commit them again, we will perish for all eternity. We will not have everlasting life in the kingdom of Heaven with YeHoVaH forever. This is our punishment for not being obedient.
Point number 4: Asking for forgiveness is the easy part, however, the hard part is turning away the temptation of the sin you know so well. For some it is addiction and for others it is self-control. Either way, sin is a tough battle and we can beat it with the Father and with Messiah’s teachings of repentance that leads us to forgiveness and cleanliness.
Last week, we learned how to start looking at questions and asking them about our faith. We need to know if we are choosing the right faith and there are now well over 40000 different denominations of the Christian faith. Therefore, more diligence each individual needs to take before they decide which faith is theirs because the truth is, most doctrines have created their own god by changing The Creator and who He is into something that makes them feel good and right.
As we have covered many things today, I want you all to focus on one thing, yourselves and your sins. The Spirit of Elohim is at the door ready to forgive you and help you defeat the enemy. The question that remains is, “Are you ready to answer that door?”
