We all have questions and we all have our searches, however, when we include people in these questions, things can get kind of hairy. Let me explain a little. When you try to question a preacher or rabbi about basic fundamentals of faith, they tend to get a bit defensive. That’s how my family and I were asked to leave multiple churches. This poses a problem when you think about it because you can’t sharpen iron or seek out ABBA if you don’t have any questions. If you are seeking something, most times that search starts with a question.
Today we are going to discuss questions, we are going to talk about why it is so hard to have a question about the fundamentals of faith. We will see in scripture how we should handle these situations, if we are allowed to questions things of faith and how to question them. Heck we will probably learn a lot more than this as well.
Remember, the bible tells us to test everything but one thing and that is testing the Father. That means, HE IS THE ONLY ONE WE DO NOT TEST. The one thing that the Father does tell us is to seek HIM and only Him.
Do not try Yah!
Deuteronomy 6:16
16“Do not try יהוה your Elohim as you tried Him in Massah.
Seek Yah Continually
1 Chronicles 16:11
11Seek יהוה and His strength, Seek His face continually!
Practice the habits of old, submit your heart and being to seek Yah
1 Chronicles 22:19
19“Now, give your heart and your being to seek יהוה your Elohim. And rise up and build the set-apart place of יהוה Elohim, to bring the ark of the covenant of יהוה and the set-apart vessels of Elohim into the house that is to be built for the Name of יהוה.”
As the offspring of Adam, we should seek Yah
Acts 17:27
26“And He has made from one blood every nation of men to dwell on all the face of the earth, having ordained beforehand the times and the boundaries of their dwelling,
27to seek the Master, if at least they would reach out for Him and find Him, though He is not far from each one of us.
28For in Him we live and move and are, as also some of your own poets have said, ‘For we are also His offspring.’ ”
ESV
26 And he made from one man every nation of mankind to live on all the face of the earth, having determined allotted periods and the boundaries of their dwelling place,
27 that they should seek God, and perhaps feel their way toward him and find him. Yet he is actually not far from each one of us,
28 for “‘In him we live and move and have our being’; as even some of your own poets have said, “‘For we are indeed his offspring.’
An Elohim who loves those who search for Him
Proverbs 8:17
17“I love those who love me, And those who earnestly seek me do find me.
Do not wish to lack, seek Yah
Psalm 34:10
10Kaph Young lions have lacked and been hungry; But those who seek יהוה lack not any good matter.
If you are righteous, meek or humble, still seek Yah
Zephaniah 2:3
3Seek יהוה, all you meek ones of the earth, who have done His right-ruling. Seek righteousness, seek meekness, if so be that you are hidden in the day of wrath of יהוה.
Test Everything
1 John 4:1-3
1Beloved ones, do not believe every spirit, but prove the spirits, whether they are of Elohim, because many false prophets have gone out into the world.
2By this you know the Spirit of Elohim: Every spirit that confesses that יהושע Messiah has come in the flesh is of Elohim,
3and every spirit that does not confess that יהושע Messiah has come in the flesh is not of Elohim. And this is the spirit of the anti-messiah which you heard is coming, and now is already in the world.
Circling back to questions
Now that we have covered that seeking Yah comes first and that we need to test everything other than Elohim, we see that questions should be brought forth. However, like the left, when you don’t agree with them, they argue, whine, cry and fight for their voice to be the voice of right rather than the voice of understanding and confidence. The entire idea that we cannot question our resources of the past, the teachings of old and the writings in which we are told to read from is completely absurd. People believe, especially in the Catholic church, that questioning the reality given to us by history is cognitive dissidence and even called blasphemous. We have long left the realm of discussion to debate to forming common ground and the ability to agree to disagree. People instead, are conditioned now to get defensive, argumentative, agitated, frustrated, angry and hateful. Carrying on a good, debatable topic even when debating out of curiosity, has lost its place in our society due to all the brainwashing you see happening in the media, schools and around the world. It’s interesting that the minds of people have fallen into a trap of autonomy. When you are autonomous, you refuse to question the basics, you refuse to hear ideas or questions, you refuse to entertain anything outside of your own normal. This isn’t a good thing, this is being a know-it-all and eventually your own growth in faith will stall and you will get stuck. Faith is a learning experience that never ends. Like the layers of the earth, when you peel back the layers of doctrines taught by men, you either find some truth or you find that most of it was built on lies and paganism.
Dealing with closed minded people
When dealing with people that get offended, defensive or dismissive towards you or your questions, regardless of subject matter, it’s time to walk away from that person because in my perspective, its better for your spiritual well being to seek the Father alone than to try to get help from a person who is unwilling to help find an answer. The question you have to ask yourself when something like this happens is this, “Why are they so defensive if they know the answer to the question or if they are solidified in their faith?” One must ask this question because if a person cannot handle your questions with the confidence of their faith, the confidence of their faith must not be as strong as they believe. Doubt is a very powerful tool and its one that causes us to get defensive and angry towards questions. These questions tend to be rooted around the foundations of faith, religion and religious organizations. This is why questions cause such division between people. When you question things that have a rocky or questionable foundation, it means that the person could have been wrong their entire lives, influenced people to believe the wrong things and destroyed relationships based on false or disinformation. That’s because a lot of the stuff that brings questions are the things that people have been indoctrinated with their entire lives.
Let’s take Yeshua for example. We have a fundamental foundation on Yeshua in two different perspectives that I would consider mainstream understandings. (Yes, there are more.) Yeshua is Yah and Yeshua is not Yah. There are arguments out there in scripture but people, myself included, tend to fall to one side or the other, which in Christianity is Yeshua is Yah. Yet in the latter position, their argument can be seen as well. We have all heard the Yeshua is Yah argument, I have thoroughly preached on that one so let’s change it up and throw the latter out. The major argument they have is through Yeshua’s action alone and Yah’s words alone. For example purposes only,
Yeshua prays to the Father
Matthew 26:42
42Again He went away, a second time, and prayed, saying, “O My Father, if it is impossible for this to pass unless I drink it, let Your desire be done.”
Mark 1:35
35And having risen very early in the morning, while still dark, He went out, and went away to a lonely place, and there He prayed.
Luke 6:12
12And in those days it came to be that He went out to the mountain to pray, and was spending the night in prayer to Elohim.
They say, “If Yeshua is Yah, why would he pray unto himself instead of just taking action?”
Verse 1 separation of person, Verse 2 call El His Elohim
Isaiah 61:1
1The Spirit of the Master יהוה is upon Me, because יהוה has anointed Me to bring good news to the meek. He has sent Me to bind up the broken-hearted, to proclaim release to the captives, and the opening of the prison to those who are bound,
2to proclaim the acceptable year of יהוה, and the day of vengeance of our Elohim, to comfort all who mourn,
3to appoint unto those who mourn in Tsiyon: to give them embellishment for ashes, the oil of joy for mourning, the garment of praise for the spirit of heaviness. And they shall be called trees of righteousness, a planting of יהוה, to be adorned.
They say, “If Yeshua is Yah why is there a separation between the two?”
Specific way to pray to a Father not to him
Matthew 6:9-13
9“This, then, is the way you should pray: ‘Our Father who is in the heavens, let Your Name be set-apart,
10let Your reign come, let Your desire be done on earth as it is in heaven.
11Give us today our daily bread.
12And forgive us our debts, as we forgive our debtors.
13‘And do not lead us into trial, but deliver us from the wicked one – because Yours is the reign and the power and the esteem, forever. Amĕn.’
They say, “If Yeshua is Yah, why is he teaching people to pray to the Father and not to him?”
Yah El Shaddai who was, who is and who is coming!
Revelation 4:8
8And the four living creatures, each having six wings, were covered with eyes around and within. And they do not cease, day or night, saying, “Set-apart, set-apart, set-apart, יהוה Ěl Shaddai, who was, and who is, and who is coming!”
They say, “If Yeshua is Yah, why is this verse not referencing Yeshua instead of Yah?”
The Father and the Lamb
Revelation 5:13-14
13And every creature which is in the heaven and on the earth and under the earth and such as are in the sea, and all that are in them, I heard saying, “To Him sitting on the throne, and to the Lamb, be the blessing and the respect and the esteem and the might, forever and ever!”
14And the four living creatures said, “Amĕn!” And the twenty-four elders fell down and bowed before Him who lives forever and ever.
The Father and the Lamb are separated and the Him in both verses represent speaking to the one on the throne and not the lamb. So, these people with this belief have a very convincing and balanced argument as to why they believe what they do. The best thing is to always seek Abba as we have learned recently so when people who differ from your belief slightly or greatly, you are able to be more effective discussing these differences because you have sought Yah, you have solidified your foundation of faith and you are prepared to discuss these topics without losing your composure. Isn’t it amazing when you can have a productive debate without all the emotions the mainstream tries to influence you to live by?
The Christian church would have you believe, as well as myself at one point, which changed around 10 months ago, we have Yah and Yah is one and Yeshua and Yah are one therefore the Shema represented the connection between the two and making them one along with a few other compelling scriptures. The problem is, if you go to a church with this question, they tend to tell you what to believe rather than have a productive and respectful debate. This happens in the secular world, the Christian churches, denomination set aside. We are not allowed to question anything without serious consequences because it undermines the theologians of old, calls the church a liar and dismantles the foundations of the church. This statement pertains to all denominations of the protestant church and the Catholic church. Right now we all should have questions especially with the times that we are in. We are seeing biblical events happen that mimic what end time prophecy speaks. This should be fearful because it means that the judgment of the world is on the way and we need to make sure we are on the right side of the fence so that we won’t taste death and inherit the gift of Elohim, everlasting life. The best thing to remember is without questions, nothing in this world would get accomplished and new innovations will never be made. You can make this statement inclusive to any topic, from faith to life. Let’s look at some examples of what I mean.
How can we travel faster? Craft a wheel. How do we prepare for major disaster? Hang on to something for your life. How do we get food hot? Craft a fire. How do we bathe? Use water and soap. Every progressive step a person makes in their lives starts with a question and the moment we quit asking questions is the moment we quit learning and seeking truth. The moment we quit questioning, is the moment we quit living. Life isn’t life without questions.
Jeremiah 33:3
3Call unto Me, and I shall answer you, and show you great and inaccessible matters, which you have not known.’
Matthew 7:7
7“Ask and it shall be given to you, seek and you shall find, knock and it shall be opened to you.
Deuteronomy 4:29
29But from there you shall seek יהוה your Elohim, and shall find, when you search for Him with all your heart and with all your being.
Proverbs 8:17
17“I love those who love me, And those who earnestly seek me do find me.
Isaiah 45:14-17
14Thus said יהוה, “The labour of Mitsrayim and merchandise of Kush and of the Seḇaites, men of size, come over to you and they are yours. They walk behind you, they come over in chains, and they bow down to you. They make supplication to you, saying, ‘Indeed, Ěl is in you, and there is none else, no mighty one.’ ”
15Truly You are Ěl, who hide Yourself, O Elohim of Yisra’ĕl, Saviour!
16They shall be put to shame, and even be humiliated, all of them – the makers of idols shall go away together in humiliation.
17Yisra’ĕl shall be saved by יהוה with an everlasting deliverance. You are not to be ashamed nor hurt, forever and ever.
Today is rightfully named questions for a reason. I pray I put questions in your mind so you can seek Elohim and find Him. So, you can seek Him and ask Him questions. I pray that you find yourself spending less time seeking out the mysteries of what man has instilled to be mysteries and more time getting to know Yah our Savior, for without Him, nothing from Matthew to Revelation would ever happen. I pray that we realize that while we go through the motions of reading our bible every day, trying to live better and going through the regular Christian routine, I pray today I show you that our routines is, well, spiritually dull for the most part. We need to reinvigorate ourselves in the Master Creator, the Father in heaven for everything He has done for us. We need to love Him and cherish Him. Someone who seeks to find the Father in Heaven, would be searching for Him and not the mysteries. Once you find Him, you’ll never want to leave Him. You will see that the relationship between Father and child is more intimate once we loose ourselves from all the distractions and doctrines. We need to accept that we need to know more about Elohim our Father and less about our world and the mysteries hidden within all the scrolls. Those mysteries will be revealed to us when Father chooses.
Like I used to say to most people, the traits that show that the Ruach Ha Kodesh is working through you such as speaking in tongues, healing the sick, cleansing the lepers, etc, they are given to each of us as Father deems necessary. We are not all able to do this because to be able to do this, we need to be close to Father, we need to be keeping Torah best we can, turn away from wickedness and strive for righteousness. We need to seek and find, trust and love, surrender heart and being to enhance our progression. We have to open our minds to the truth no matter how much it argues with doctrines of religious organizations. Remember, we may be in a relationship but if that relationship is tainted with doctrine, we are still a part of a religious organization.
To that end ladies and gents, I’ve enjoyed today and I pray you all bite less heads and put more heads together. We are family and family work together.
Deuteronomy 6:4-9
4“Hear, O Yisra’ĕl: יהוה our Elohim, יהוה is one!
5“And you shall love יהוה your Elohim with all your heart, and with all your being, and with all your might.
6And these Words which I am commanding you today shall be in your heart,
7and you shall impress them upon your children, and shall speak of them when you sit in your house, and when you walk by the way, and when you lie down, and when you rise up,
8and shall bind them as a sign on your hand, and they shall be as frontlets between your eyes.
9“And you shall write them on the doorposts of your house and on your gates.
