Gifts of the Spirit Preface Pt 2
Gifts of Wisdom and Knowledge
We prefaced 3 gifts and started on 4 and 5 which are tied to each other, wisdom and knowledge. Wisdom, which is of the highest of gifts as it opens your mind up to the mysteries of Scripture and aligns you with Yah and what His true words in Scripture really mean. With wisdom comes great responsibility because wisdom gives a person the ability to use knowledge properly. Without wisdom, knowledge is a very dangerous gift. Think of knowledge without wisdom like knowing what causes certain things in your body to go wrong, such as a ulcer or cancer and saying you have an ulcer or cancer just because you display a few symptoms that mimic these conditions. Wisdom helps you determine discernment. Without wisdom, you allow fear, sorrow and other unreasonable emotions and feelings to set in. Most often it may side effect is sorrow.
This is the physical positioning in this topic, but you have the spiritual perspective one must look at. You have sin, I have sin, everyone has sin. The problem with this sin is most of us are unaware that we are bad people until our search for our Father in Heaven becomes real. Once we start this search, we will start to discover our inner selves and how our minds, hearts and bodies are full of sin. This knowledge and wisdom bestow much sorrow, grief, and sadness to one’s heart. We become filled with these emotions because we start to see why we are so bad. Imagine being able to see how filthy sinful you really are, wearing your sin, covered in your own abomination, seeing your own death take over you.
This is the wisdom and knowledge we can see here.
7 The fear of יהוה is the beginning of knowledge; Fools despise wisdom and discipline.
28“Let them then call on me, but I answer not; Let them seek me, but not find me.
29“Because they hated knowledge And did not choose the fear of יהוה,
30“They did not accept my counsel, They despised all my reproof,
31“Therefore let them eat the fruit of their own way, And be filled with their own counsels.
32“For the turning away of the simple kills them, And the complacency of fools destroys them.
33“But whoever listens to me dwells safely, And is at ease from the dread of evil.”
18 For in much wisdom is much grief, and he who increases knowledge increases suffering.
Is not your fear of God your confidence, And the integrity of your ways your hope?
This brings one to much sadness. If you are not struggling with this in your walk, you aren’t walking close enough to the Father. He will show you the darkest and deepest parts of yourself and allow you to wrestle that part of you until you overcome it. That is what makes the battle worthy. When you fight and struggle against the sin, win you fully achieve victory, you will be less likely to fall back into it. Spiritual warfare is such an intimate battle between self and sin. It’s a song and dance of Indiana Jones hunting down a treasure in a booby-trapped cave and seeking out the prize, in our case, everlasting life. Fearful of not being able to obtain it because you are too busy being distracted by the booby-traps rather than focusing on the path the Creator gave. When you find and obtain it, you’ll never want to let it go and when you screw up, you find yourself in complete sorrow mad because you failed your Father.
In a few weeks we will dive deeper into this topic, wisdom and knowledge can turn into deep subjects.
The Gift of Power through Healing
The next gift we will overview will be the gift of healing. Like the gift from last week with miracles. Healing a form of miracle, is a simple action to take place the problem is, we start to see many people taking advantage of what is written in the B’rit Hadasha They will take this and make healing camps where people will go and see a person hoping to be healed but instead there’s parlor tricks put on stage of specially selected individuals who display a miraculous healing but it was all deception. When everything is over, they ask for donations and these so-called healings drive people to give up their money thinking they are supporting a good cause.
These healing tents cause a lot of false hope in a man. They go home plan for showing up for the next healing because only faith healer John Doe can heal you. This is the mindset that takes place so people give and give hoping one day they would be called and find out that they have been conned when they get tired of waiting for their turn that never comes. We can discern this spirit quickly because our Tanach gives us clues about this gift.
26 And He said, “If you diligently obey the voice of יהוה your Elohim and do what is right in His eyes, and shall listen to His commands and shall guard all His laws, I shall bring on you none of the diseases I brought on the Mitsrites, for I am יהוה who heals you.”
15 “And יהוה shall turn away from you all sickness and put on you none of the evil diseases of Mitsrayim which you have known, but He shall put them on all those who hate you.
3 He heals the broken-hearted And binds up their wounds.
33 “Walk in all the ways which יהוה your Elohim has commanded you, so that you live and it be well with you. And you shall prolong your days in the land which you possess.
Father is the one who heals and Yeshua came and Father healed through the Spirit working in and on Yeshua. This is a common mistake many people do not catch because they are too focused on the NT rather than the OT.
This is how we know faith healers are counterfeit. We don’t need a tent to receive adoration. We don’t need a full house of people praising us for healing others. We should have a full house celebrating and praising Elohim for his masterful work in the tent. Father should be exalted, not the man.
The other error is how many people do not believe in the Healing power of the Holy Spirit or they feel that the time of healing have already surpassed us. More on that in the coming weeks.
The Gift of Power or The Donning of the Holy Spirit
The Spirit of Yah is a strong and powerful spirit which works all the above gifts that we just introduced. This list we made is a list of the characteristics of the Spirit in the Tanach. We did not include any scriptures from the Renewed Covenant as we are going to show what aligns. And with that we will see shortly what it means to use the power of the Ruach HaKodesh in your life. We will also see what it means when the Ruach HaKodesh comes upon a person and what it means for that person. A lot of times we see that the church, under their deception, teaches us a basis of the gifts mainly focused on a section or two in the Paulian letters. We need to see what the bible shows us. As we march forward you will see the scriptures come alive and show us the Ruach/Holy Spirit in ways we haven’t been able to focus thanks in part by the church but mostly inhibited by the Catholic church.
The power of the Spirit is seen throughout the Tanach. It is a valuable part of our faith and it shows the approval of the Father for you. It shows us who has power for any said season and who doesn’t. It calls out prophecies and healings, miracles and resurrection, love and peace. We see so much in scripture about the Ruach that we don’t give enough credit to Yah for allowing us to receive the Spirit. Some of us and I would say about 60+ percent of believers, underestimate and takes for granted, the gift of the Comforter.
30 And Mosheh said to the children of Yisra’ĕl, “See, יהוה has called by name Betsal’ĕl son of Uri, son of Ḥur, of the tribe of Yehuḏah,
31 and He has filled him with the Spirit of Elohim, in wisdom, in understanding, and in knowledge, and in all work,
32 to make designs, to work in gold and in silver and in bronze,
33 and in cutting of stones for setting, and in carving wood, and to work in all workmanship of design.
34 “And He has put in his heart the ability to teach, in him and Oholiaḇ son of Aḥisamaḵ, of the tribe of Dan.
35 “He has filled them with skill to do all work of the engraver and the designer and embroiderer, in blue and in purple, in scarlet material, and in fine linen, and a weaver, doing any work, and makers of designs.
2 Chronicles 24:20
20 Then the Spirit of Elohim came upon Zeḵaryah son of Yehoyaḏa the priest, who stood above the people, and said to them, “Thus said Elohim, ‘Why are you transgressing the commands of יהוה, and do not prosper? Because you have forsaken יהוה, He has forsaken you.’ ”
18 And יהוה said to Mosheh, “Take Yehoshua son of Nun with you, a man in whom is the Spirit. And you shall lay your hand on him,
19 and shall set him before El‛azar the priest and before all the congregation, and give him command before their eyes,
20 and shall put some of your esteem upon him, so that all the congregation of the children of Yisra’ĕl obey him.
21 And he is to stand before El‛azar the priest, who shall inquire before יהוה for him by the right-ruling of the Urim. At his word they go out, and at his word they come in, both he and all the children of Yisra’ĕl with him, all the congregation.
22 And Mosheh did as יהוה commanded him, and took Yehoshua and set him before El‛azar the priest and before all the congregation,
23 and laid his hands on him and commissioned him, as יהוה commanded by the hand of Mosheh.
We have many things we can be given but we have to choose the Father first for us to receive anything if that is His will. We are all given the chance at one point or the other, the problem with that chance is most of us miss it which is why the Father consistently tries to send chances to those He knows has a chance. Since He wrote the book of You, He knows how to try and lead you through His spirit, through His word and through His work. Because of Yeshua’s blood, we can try to reach out to Him over and over as He did for us over the years. That is the glory behind the power of the Spirit, it is here, it is waiting for us and it is locked and loaded. Now these are some of the historical events of the Ruach but there is so much more to these topics, we just need to take time to dive into them as we have done with other things. Do not be afraid as we move forward. You will see things that may cause you sorrow and sadness, anger and pain but at the end, the hope will be that you get closer to Him and at Shavuot, if it is Father’s will, have the Spirit come upon you or you find yourself filled with the Spirit.
The power of the Spirit comes with so much upside that there is nothing in the world that can compare to it. Witches, warlocks, evil beings think that their deceiving father of lies makes them all powerful in their eyes but in fact their parlor tricks are just a shovel digging their own grave. While turning to the Father and learning to live by His word, to seek Him out, and to find Him will give you true immortality in everlasting life serving the one true king of all things specifically life and death. Therefore, we revere Him; therefore, we fear transgressing against Him, and therefore we love Him. Until next week when we go over completeness, the gift of Life. Shabbat Shalom.
