Psalm 112: Promise of the Righteous

Psalm 112
1 Praise the Lord! Blessed is the man who fears the Lord, who greatly delights in his commandments!

Romans 7:22

22 For I delight in the Torah of Elohim according to the inward man,

Psalm 119:35-48
35 Make me walk in the path of Your commands, For I have delighted in it.
36 Incline my heart to Your witnesses, And not to own gain.
37 Turn away my eyes from looking at falsehood, And revive me in Your way.
38 Establish Your word to Your servant, Which leads to the fear of You.
39 Turn away my reproach which I dread, For Your right-rulings are good.
40 See, I have longed for Your orders; Revive me in Your righteousness.
41 Waw And let Your loving-commitments come to me, O יהוה; Your deliverance, according to Your word,
42 So that I answer my reprover, For I have trusted in Your word.
43 And do not take away from my mouth The word of truth entirely, For I have waited for Your right-rulings;
44 That I might guard Your Torah continually, Forever and ever;
45 That I might walk in a broad place, For I have sought Your orders;
46 That I might speak of Your witnesses before sovereigns, And not be ashamed;
47 That I might delight myself in Your commands, Which I have loved;
48 That I might lift up my hands to Your commands, Which I have loved; While I meditate on Your laws.

Psalms 112
2 His offspring will be mighty in the land; the generation of the upright will be blessed.

Blessing normally pertains to some sort of prosperity but this prosperity is different for each person. Peter, it was fish. For some it’s knowledge, love, wisdom, object, marriage etc… Keep in mind, it’s the Creator that hands out the rewards, not your own.

Proverbs 13:21
21 Evil pursues sinners, But good is repaid to the righteous.

Psalm 112
3 Wealth and riches are in his house, and his righteousness endures forever.

Remember wealth and riches to us doesn’t necessarily mean the same to the Most High. It’s my opinion that it actually has a grandeur meaning than the outcome of a simple currency.

Society status has turned moralities compass into a polar shift and so our pressured practice of staying righteous is currently being transformed by this world into wickedness. Hence the reason we are told enduring to the end.

The glorification in this passage that makes everything so magnificent and splendid is the fact that the old adage that practice makes perfect will rain true. Forming character habits out of the delightfulness of Elohim’s commands will help you to allow your righteousness and yourself to endure to the end and forever. Practice is key.

1 Timothy 4:8
8 For bodily exercise is profitable for a little, but reverence(fear) is profitable for all, having promise of the present life, and of that which is to come.

1 Samuel 12:24
24“Only fear(reverence) יהוה, and you shall serve Him in truth with all your heart, for consider what marvels He has done for you.
Hebrews 12:28
28 Therefore, receiving an unshakeable reign, let us hold the favour, through which we serve Elohim pleasingly with reverence and awe,

Psalm 112
4 Light dawns in the darkness for the upright; he is gracious, merciful, and
righteous.

Even when it feels like we are all alone and Elohim has left us because of something or someone or whatever. Truth is, if you are in Him and truly love Him, your light is there while you navigate the trials and tribulations of darkness.

There is the proverbial light at the end of the tunnel for all those who believe on Him and serve Him in truth.

Psalm 112
5 It is well with the man who deals generously and lends; who conducts his affairs with justice.

Part of serving Him in truth includes some charity in its modern usage. In other words, there are ways a person shows their righteousness.

Psalm 112

6 For the righteous will never be moved; he will be remembered forever.

Unwavering faith. Strong willed. Pounded out and chiseled to perfection..

Psalm 112

7 He is not afraid of bad news; his heart is firm, trusting in the Lord.

Trust given through faith that everything works out.

Romans 8:28
28 And we know that all matters work together for good to those who love Elohim, to those who are called according to his purpose.

With this wisdom, bad news, good news, sorrowful news, all news is news that will somehow lead to an ending that is the will of Elohim as long as you are called according to his purpose. In other words, doing His will.

Psalm 112
8 His heart is steady; he will not be afraid, until he looks in triumph on his adversaries.

Again showing no fear until there is nothing to fear. We will all get to have triumphs over our adversaries. We need to learn to leave fear in the rear-view mirror.

Psalm 112
9 He has distributed freely; he has given to the poor; his righteousness endures forever; his horn is exalted in honor.

Proverbs 21:21
21 He who pursues righteousness and loving-commitment Finds life, righteousness and esteem.

1 Timothy 6:11

11 But you, O man of Elohim, flee from all this, and pursue righteousness, reverence, belief, love, endurance, meekness.

Psalm 37:28

28 For יהוה loves right-ruling, And does not forsake His lovingly-committed ones; They shall be guarded forever, But the seed of the wrongdoers is cut off.

Psalm 112
10 The wicked man sees it and is angry; he gnashes his teeth and melts away; the desire of the wicked will perish!

Matthew 6:33
33 But seek first the reign of Elohim, and His righteousness, and all these shall be added to you.

What’s added to you?
