I started this series in the mindset of producing something similar of what I had produced some 5 years ago but from an old testament perspective. What has happened is quite the opposite of what I feel is being shown to me. When we put labels on our Father for His gifts, we encapsulate Him within the confines of our understanding. In essence, we tell the entire world that His gifts are limited. Today isn’t going to be one of those regular weeks where we just dive into scripture and try to prove something. Today, I’m going to show you how to release the power of the Father in your life because for most of us who really trust, believe and have faith in Elohim, already have the power of the Father working in our lives. It’s quite a unique study to find that man has once again handcuffed the experience of Elohim in our lives and instead places extra weight and responsibility on the children of Father. There is no responsibility with Father’s gifts. They are freely given and He already knows how we are going to use them. He knows what we are going to do with them and He knows how to move us to do what He needs us to do. We can limit it to 7, 9, 40 gifts. It truly is limitless. From resurrections and healings to spiritual battle and divine ordained times, all His work in our lives is a gift from the Creator. He is truly unique in all that He is. It’s praise to Him and His majesty for it is His mercy and grace that we are able to partake in the unique gifts that Elohim has provided us. The food on our table, the relationships that we form and the jobs that we have, are all gifts from Elohim.
I take this position because to show you the gifts of the spirit in the old testament, I would have to read the entire thing to you over the next 6 months because the words that are on these pages are the greatest gifts He gives. The gift to give us a road map to find Him.
105 Nun Your word is a lamp to my feet And a light to my path.
The word is the lamp to our feet and a light to our path and the best gift of all even greater than the word is to seek and find our Elohim. To really get to know Him and find out what He’s really about. Some will say that their age vouches for their faith, some will act like they know it all and some will just care about having enough for the get out of jail free card. Unfortunately, none of these positions are correct. We need to be seeking the Father out at all times. I’m not the best at staying focused on faith because I have a lot of distractions in my life going on right now. I’m moving, have a new born with a five-year-old, in battle with multiple organizations to clear up a mess, amongst other things but none of this is an excuse as to why I can’t seek Him out more. The problem about society and man is that we find the key to everlasting life, in some Christian beliefs, it’s a prayer, in others, its John 3:16 and in other circles, its loving Elohim and loving thy neighbor as thy self.
No matter what school of faith you come from, the only faith that matters is the faith that you possess for your King of Kings the Most High Elohim Yah. We will never know everything, there isn’t a magic verse that guarantees spiritual safety and that get out of jail key won’t fit the cell if it doesn’t fit the lock. Just finding the key on the road normally isn’t how the key is found. In our faith, The El of Abraham, Isaac and Jacob, He gives you the key. You can’t find it; you can’t obtain it through special doctrinal prayer and time served doesn’t purchase it. It is freely given and it is freely returned. For we have a choice to follow our Father or this world and the more we follow this world, the more often that man gives the key back to the Father and tell Him in our actions, we don’t wont it. We cannot obtain everlasting life with certainty without first allowing Him to become our focus.
What I am going to show you in a moment, is that the gifts of Elohim that is delivered by His spirit, is limitless. I will show you that all the actions of the spirit are an action being made by Father Himself and that qualifies that all matters that are carried out by His spirit are considered His gifts. It’s a good, good Father we have indeed.
Children and Protection
1 If יהוה does not build the house, Its builders have laboured in vain. If יהוה does not guard the city, The watchman has stayed awake in vain.
2 In vain do you rise up early, To sit up late, to eat the bread of toil; So He gives His beloved sleep.
3 Look, children are an inheritance from יהוה, The fruit of the womb is the reward.
4 As arrows in the hand of a mighty man, So are the children of one’s youth.
5 Blessed is the man Who has filled his quiver with them. They are not ashamed, When they speak with their enemies in the gate.
A good, good Father will always keep guard of His children. As we are an inheritance to our parents here on earth, how much more are we to the One who created us? We are an inheritance and just like our children who needs our protection, we need our Father to protect us. The blessing of many children helps us in our endeavors here on Earth. It makes us stronger, gives us numbers and helps feed the family. We are mighty under the Most High, we are blessed from the Most High and we are special because of the Most High. This is a great gift from our Father.
The most common thing that is seen in scripture of the gift of Elohim and His spirit is the gift revolving around wisdom, understanding, knowledge and work. These are the prevalent interactions that we see the gifts being gifted most often however too understand Elohim, we need to understand the main purpose of our lives, to seek, search and find Elohim. So, if we are about Him, we should by historical pattern, be commissioned by the spirit to these gifts but its all about how we are towards Elohim. We have small and great matters; we must bring this to Elohim and He will hear the matters for us and tell us how to handle them. Most of the time, we don’t have a choice in what happens, there are so many working parts in our lives that Elohim positions each person at a specific point so when our lives ripple and touch one another, Elohim’s plans start to unravel. It’s absolutely awesome when you see the hand of Elohim and you can see His plan unravel before your eyes. When you can see all the working parts, you start to see a huge machine and all the people, places, contracts, etc. all of it, working towards goals that HE the Father has set for us. He never gets it wrong and we never know what the end of that path will look like. Its amazing when you think about it. Either way lets take a look at some scriptures.
“Ye shall not respect persons in judgment; but ye shall hear the small as well as the great; ye shall not be afraid of the face of man; for the judgment is God’s: and the cause that is too hard for you, bring it unto me, and I will hear it.”(KJV)
17 Do not show partiality in right-ruling, hear the small as well as the great. Do not be afraid of anyone’s face, for the right-ruling belongs to Elohim. And the case which is too hard for you, bring it to me, and I shall hear it.’ (TS2009)
Wisdom, Understanding, Knowledge and Work
3 and I have filled him with the Spirit of Elohim in wisdom, and in understanding, and in knowledge, and in all work,
1 “And Betsal’ĕl and Oholiaḇ, and every wise-hearted man in whom יהוה has given wisdom and understanding, to know how to do all work for the service of the set-apart place, shall do according to all that יהוה has commanded.”
2 And Mosheh called Betsal’ĕl and Oholiaḇ, and every wise-hearted man in whose heart יהוה had given wisdom, everyone whose heart lifted him up, to come and do the work.
31 and He has filled him with the Spirit of Elohim, in wisdom, in understanding, and in knowledge, and in all work,
Wisdom, Laying of Hands
9 And Yehoshua son of Nun was filled with the spirit of wisdom, for Mosheh had laid his hands on him. And the children of Yisra’ĕl listened to him, and did as יהוה had commanded Mosheh.
The Spoken Word
2 And the Spirit entered into me when He spoke to me, and set me on my feet. And I heard Him who was speaking to me.
Daniel 4:9, 18
9 “Bĕlteshatstsar, chief of the magicians, because I know that the Spirit of the Set-apart Elahin is in you, and no secret is too difficult for you, explain to me the visions of my dream that I have seen, and its interpretation.
18 “This dream have I seen, I, Sovereign Neḇuḵaḏnetstsar. And you, Bĕlteshatstsar, reveal its interpretation, since all the wise ones of my reign are unable to make known to me the interpretation. But you are able, for the Spirit of the Set-apart Elahin is in you.”
25 And יהוה came down in the cloud, and spoke to him, and took of the Spirit that was upon him, and placed the same upon the seventy elders. And it came to be, when the Spirit rested upon them, that they prophesied, but did not continue.
2 And Bil‛am lifted up his eyes and saw Yisra’ĕl encamped according to their tribes. And the Spirit of Elohim came upon him.
3 And he took up his proverb and said, “The saying of Bil‛am, son of Be‛or, and the saying of the man whose eyes are opened,
4 the saying of him who hears the words of Ěl, who sees the vision of the Almighty, who falls down, with eyes opened wide:
5 “How good are your tents, O Ya‛aqoḇ, your dwellings, O Yisra’ĕl!
28 “And after this it shall be that I pour out My Spirit on all flesh. And your sons and your daughters shall prophesy, your old men dream dreams, your young men see visions.
2 Chronicles 24:20
20 Then the Spirit of Elohim came upon Zeḵaryah son of Yehoyaḏa the priest, who stood above the people, and said to them, “Thus said Elohim, ‘Why are you transgressing the commands of יהוה, and do not prosper? Because you have forsaken יהוה, He has forsaken you.’ ”
Blessing from Father
1 “See, My Servant whom I uphold, My Chosen One My being has delighted in! I have put My Spirit upon Him; He brings forth right-ruling to the nations.
To Bring a Message
1 The Spirit of the Master יהוה is upon Me, because יהוה has anointed Me to bring good news to the meek. He has sent Me to bind up the broken-hearted, to proclaim release to the captives, and the opening of the prison to those who are bound,
20 “You also gave Your good Spirit to instruct them, and did not withhold Your manna from their mouth, and gave them water for their thirst.
5 And the Spirit of יהוה fell upon me, and said to me, “Speak! ‘Thus said יהוה, “Thus you have said, O house of Yisra’ĕl. For I know what comes up in your spirit.
23 “Turn at my reproof. See, I pour out my spirit on you, I make my words known to you.
11 Do not cast me away from Your presence, And do not take Your Set-apart Spirit from me.
10 “And I shall pour on the house of Dawiḏ and on the inhabitants of Yerushalayim a spirit of favour and prayers. And they shall look on Me whom they pierced, and they shall mourn for Him as one mourns for his only son. And they shall be in bitterness over Him as a bitterness over the first-born.
We see a lot of the labeling happening as we went through these verses. This is the habit that man has gotten into. We have no limits for a limitless Creator so how are we able to allow others to put limits on who we have faith in? How are we able to allow theologians, rabbis, priests, etc… who proclaim that their research and study tells them what they know is true? How are we not picking up on the evidence laid before us instead off blindly following these people? Here’s the truth of the matter, Elohim has but one real request of all of us, if we follow that request, we will learn everything that He requires of us as worshipers. Remember it’s not about us being provided for by a Father even though that is one of the amazing perks of having Him as Father but the biggest thing is about worshipping the Father in spirit and truth. Everyone can lie to everyone else about their faith and how strong it is but the Father knows your spirit and your heart. He knows if you want to serve Him or your own belly.
From Wisdom to Favor, Correction to Punishment, Teaching to Being Taught, the common thing with all of the historical record that stands out the most to me is that our Father keeps with the same basic concept throughout His Word and it never changes. That concept as simple as it is, is not easy. The concept is to do what Yah commands us to do. No matter the difficulty, the message is the same. If something is too difficult, take it to the Father and ask for His assistance. If we want to receive the Gifts of the Spirit, we need to pray, petition for His favor, ask forgiveness for our transgression, change our inner-selves to become obedient to Him and Him alone. If we cannot learn this obedience and train ourselves to be obedient to Him alone, when the time comes to choose our fate, our fear will cause us to submit. It doesn’t matter what object is being used as the bending factor, when your life and faith are being pinned up against you, will you choose your life or your faith? Will you submit your life to worldly death or your faith to spiritual death? If you can’t be obedient in one simple matter, how can you be faithful in a complicated matter? If your actions do not boast your confidence in faith, how would you be able to overcome the fear? Fear does not equal confidence, for adrenaline is always on a limited supply. Shabbat Shalom.
